The power of praise
Praise God for the wonderful power in praise! Alleluia!!!! The bible says God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22 v 3) and I believe this with all my heart. God moves in power when we praise, for praise is evidence of our trust and our love for Him. When we get God’s attention through praise, everything, I repeat everything is settled. The walls of Jericho could not resist praise, the shackles and prison doors could not resist praise, Alleluia!!!
The most turbulent periods of my life have seen a turn around by me entering into the secret place and praising my way through. I remember on one occasion I needed an urgent breakthrough from God. Amidst the tears, I kept praising through the night and that week, God proved Himself as my provider and the lifter of my head. He is my rock, the only one that can be depended upon.
'When I need healing, I cry out to the 'Doctor of doctors', the Great physician, He is called Jehovah Rapha, the God who healeth thee (Exodus 15 v 27). No matter how serious the ailment, let God be your first resort, praise Him into your healing. Before you start telling stories, start praising; believe His report regarding the situation and continue praising. The enemy hates it but God loves it because it shows our implicit trust in Him. Over and over again, God has proven Himself faithful to me in this regard.
On one occasion, the Holy Spirit led me to meditate on the following scriptures: Genesis 2:21-22, Genesis 32:23-27. Here we read, God took a rib from Adam’s ribs when he was fast asleep, after which the bible says, ‘He closed up the flesh’, Alleluia!!! God is ‘the Great Surgeon’ and I call Him that all the time. Who better to trust your body with than the very one who created you.
The bible says, Jacob wrestled with God when he was fast asleep, he did not let Him go till He blessed him and God turned his life around. The longing for God’s healing touch inspired me to write ‘As I lay my head to sleep’. I remember singing this song every night before going to bed in great anticipation that the Lord would lay His Hands on me and heal me and He did, Alleluia!!! I pray that as you sing this song, faith will arise in your heart to stretch forth and touch the helm of His garment. I am sure that as you do, God will prove Himself as the one who works in the midnight hour for you, Amen.
Saints of God, I cannot emphasise this enough, be encouraged to let praise come forth from your mouth before any thing else. Make God your first port of call in praise in all situations and not the last resort. It’s between you and God, run to the secret place! Like Jacob did, don’t let Him go and praise your way through! The Power of the Blood in Praise
‘Only the blood is all I plead’ is a song that speaks of the wonders of God’s grace that grants us access into his divine presence through the blood of His only begotten son. The blood of the Lamb is the key to the door that grants access to the Father. When we come through the blood, nothing will hinder God from giving us attention, for then, it ceases to be about us but about His precious son, ‘Jesus’ whom He Has so highly exalted, Alleluia!!! The Power of the Word in Praise
‘Give me Life’ is a song I composed at a time when God spared my life from the clutches of death. This song draws reliance and anchors upon the scripture: ‘I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord (Pslam 118 v 17)’. I believe in the power of the Word in praise, for God magnifies His Word above His name (Psalm 138 v 2). Let’s go to the Word and seek for the praises of God, the promises of God and take them back to Him in worship.
Conclusion
What then is the conclusion of the matter? Our praising here on earth is just a precusor of what awaits us in heaven, the embodiment of the very purpose for which we were created. It’s also about us having an eternal focus realising that it’s heaven’s praise that really counts..........(Heaven’s praise © 2007).
